Mr Arvind Paul is our Flying Instructor. Hailing from the lush precincts of Bir, Arvind shares his passion and enjoyment of flying with those who wish to pursue their dreams of learning to fly. Arvind started his flying career in 2001. He gradually translated his childhood dream into reality, despite the scepticism of his family and friends because of the extreme risks involved. Also, now Arvind Paul is one of the most experienced instructors and top pilots of India.
Arvind has been a regular participant of Paragliding World Championships, and his achievements include third place among Indian nationals in the Paragliding World Championships in 2015 and 2013.
Arvind also got the first position in the Himalayan Open Paragliding Championship 2010.
Paragliding Courses
P1+P2 – the Basic course:
These courses are the building block of becoming a skilled pilot. You will learn the safety skills, ground handling ( inflation, stabilization, kite, run, launch, fly and landing of the paraglider wing).
You'll also learn the techniques and theories to get you in the air as well as getting some air time.

Dates: the season is mid-October to mid-December in Autumn and February last week to mid-May in spring starting mostly on the weekend.
P3 – Becoming an Independent Pilot:
In this course, you will learn everything needed to be able to fly independently, including dealing with emergencies, how to descend quickly and advanced theories of flight and meteorology.

Duration: 5-6 Days (depending on weather conditions and ability)

Venue: Billing Paul Adventure Bir, Near Baijnath, District Kangra of Himachal Pradesh.

Cost: 35,000 INR

Dates: the season is mid-October to mid-December in Autumn and February last week to mid-May in spring starting mostly on the weekend.
Note: The training fees include training and equipment usage and do not include your accommodation, food and transportation to the launch sites (taxi fees are shared).
Please note that by European norms the training to P3 level is mandatory to fly on your own, other courses are optional.
If you choose to do P1+P2+P3 together then the total cost is Rs 65,000.
🪂 APPI 1 – Discover Course
Overview:
The APPI 1 Discover course is your gateway into the world of paragliding. Designed for absolute beginners, this course focuses on ground handling skills, including preparing, inflating, and controlling the wing. Under the close supervision of certified instructors, students may also experience their first solo flight, weather permitting.

🪂 APPI 2 – Explore Course
Overview:
Building upon the foundations laid in APPI 1, the APPI 2 Explore course delves deeper into piloting skills and theoretical knowledge. Students will learn to manage their mental state, perform solo flights with greater autonomy, and handle various flight scenarios.

🪂 APPI 3 – Pilot Course
Overview:
The APPI 3 Pilot course is designed to transition students into independent pilots. Emphasis is placed on advanced flying skills such as soaring, thermalling, and fast descent techniques. Comprehensive theoretical knowledge, including flight mechanics, meteorology, air law, and equipment, is also covered.
